AppealHarbor publishes plain-English guides to appealing a residential property assessment in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Who writes this

AppealHarbor is written and maintained by Sunil Kosuri. It is a one-person site: I research the county material, write the guides, and correct them when they are wrong.

How the guides are written

Every factual claim is traced to the county's own form, the county's own page, or the Virginia Code, and linked so you can check it. Where two county pages disagree — which happens more than you would think — the guide says so and tells you which one to trust.

What this site is not

It is not legal advice and it is not an appraisal. Nothing here tells you what your property is worth, and nothing here recommends a route or a ground for any particular property. I am not a lawyer and not a licensed appraiser. I do not file appeals on anyone's behalf and do not take a share of anything you save.
